Interview with GAZTIME

Welcome everyone, I want to introduce you all with our artist from Uk, Leeds, GAZTIME as we all know!

We have made an interview with Gaztime, so you can know him and his story a lil bit better and get the right vibe from his music.

As he say's him self:

"I am a Lyricist who produces multiple genres of music to an already growing fanbase ranging from Northampton to Middlesborough (even though I am based in Leeds.) I collaborate with many other artists as a means of helping my work reach further and inspire more."

Who are your influences in the game and in your personal life?

In music I have to say my biggest influence was Eminem. I grew up listening to his lyricism and was captured and inspired by his determination to succeed. Over the years I have been influenced more by the UK music scene as the genre of Grime has taken, not just Great Britain but, the whole world by storm. Artists such as; Giggs, P Money, Wretch 32, Chipmunk, Professor Green, Ed Sheeran and a lot lot more. My personal life influences are my Family and friends, as they support me and my music 100%, and also my partner who pushes me to get the best from myself and my work.

If you could compare yourself to an already established artist, who would that be and

why?

It's hard to compare myself to others as I feel I bring something a little different to the table, however I have been told I have similar styles to Eminem, P Money and Professor Green. If I was to compare myself to any in it would probably be Ed Sheeran as I believe my music is as versatile as his even though the genres sometimes differ.

Who is your hero?

My heroes are my fans. They support me through thick and thin and motivate me to inspire them through my music. The fans are the reason I write and the reason I am where I am today. They made me the artist I have become and for that I am truly grateful and it will never be forgotten.

What do you think your listeners will get out of your music?

I think the people who listen to my music are getting more than just something to vibe to. There is deep meaning to some of my lyrics and also the wordplay and metaphor usage can be a tool for teaching people that there is so many things that can be achieved through words and lyricism.

What were you thinking about when your songs are developed? Explain your

process.

I would say I don't really have a set method for creating my songs. Sometimes I can write lyrics and make them fit to a beat and other times I hear a beat that inspires me to write about a certain subject. Music isn't just a beat with lyrics on it. It's something you feel and relate to so the creation process, in my opinion, depends on your surroundings and your ability to project your take on the topic at hand.

What made you want to get into the business?

I think the fact that I am Confident in my use of the English language is one of the main reasons I got into music, aside from music being a massive part of my life growing up and finding myself. Also I'm a very competitive person so for me I just like the challenge of writing something that makes me stand out, even if it's not to the liking of some people. Because as the saying goes you can't please everyone.

What is the most difficult thing you’ve had to endure in life?

I'd say the most difficult thing in my life I had to endure was striking out on my own at a young age. I moved away from home at 16 years old and have supported myself mentally and financially ever since. It was the toughest part of my life as I never had anyone to coach or guide me in life or in music, but by the same token I wouldn't change the way things have happened because it has made me the person I am today and that I am proud of.

What do you hope to do with your music?

I hope to inspire people to do things they love even if they don't think it's achievable. Fame isn't a lifestyle I'm interested in, I could happily be the guy in the background you hear now and again rather than some of the artists today who are only in it for the money.

In a nutshell I aim to be successful. But by success I mean to be an inspiration, not rich.

Are there any questions that your were expecting that I didn’t ask and want to

answer?

Yes actually. I was expecting some more questions aimed towards my background an such but I'm quite glad, as it goes, because I think it's nice for people to still wonder about certain aspects of my life/music. Giving too much away can do more harm to a reputation than good sometimes.

Do you have your own songs in your favourite playlist?

Yes I have my own songs in my playlist as I believe it's good to be able to look back at what you have achieved so far and to remember where you started. There is always room for improvement in every scenario and what better way to improve than to be your own critic.

Thanks for interview, hope you guys enjoyed it!
