Meet The LUCKY!

What drew you to the music industry?

The expression of emotion is what got me into creating music. But knowledge of how things work got me into the industry.

Who are you inspired by?

My biggest inspiration is Kid Cudi. I’m also a huge fan of Pharrell, Bryson Tiller & Wiz Khalifa.

Please explain your creative process

Honestly, it different every time. Sometimes a song is created with ease when a beat hits my emotions. Sometimes a song can sit around for months before I decide to record it.

What’s an average day like for you?

Since I’m still independent I use money from both my jobs to fund my music. I usually wake up early, take a shower and take the train to work. Usually on the train I do some thinking/writing and planning.

Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?

I usually put it all out there, the lyrics are pretty straight forward & the visuals match what I’m trying to do.

Do you collaborate with others? What is that process?

All the time, my producers Jake Vicious & ZTunez collaborate on beats. And they’re usually in the studio when I record, bouncing ideas around when I get stuck. Jake’s also an artist so he’ll play beats and we’ll bounce around line/concepts for his work. It’s really awesome when you get to create with your friends.

Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans

Usually it’s through Instagram. Whether it’s the comments or DM. Recently I’ve been putting together an email list so I can send out updates.

What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?

My favorite part is the creation & performance of my work. It’s exhilarating, liberating and amazing.

The least is the business side, the politics of music can be draining to deal with.

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

Never, maybe a tad nervous but never anxiety.

Tell me about your favorite performance venues

This week I’m performing at the Paper Box out in Brooklyn. From the looks of the venue it looks like that’ll become my favorite hahah.

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your

Rule #1 have fun. After that, make sure you never stop creating, have a good team of 3-4, plan & stay organized.
