Meet the DDSWAG

What drew you into a music industry?

Never been drawn to the industry but rather drawn to the idea of effectively telling a story through music. Always have loved music. Always was the guy with headphones in my ears constantly.

Who are you inspired by?

My inspiration comes from a select few artists such as Common, Kid Cudi, Dave East, and many others. The things the artists have in common are their ground breaking sound and they did things their way without any regard for the opinions of others.

Please explain your creative Process

I’m a great freestyler so I usually freestyle to a beat then write it down if it sticks. Also plenty of drugs are used to open up my mind like Shrooms, Acid, and Weed lol. Ultimately I like to observe and pay attention to my surroundings at a deep level and it is the driving force behind the content in my music.

What’s an average day like for you?

Going hard as a brick in all aspects. Just trying to evolve daily and not to be affected by the ups and downs this life has to offer. Work really hard everyday hate sitting around.

Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?

My music exposes the reality we live in and mainly opens up peoples minds...hopefully. I make Timeless music so it might not make sense at first but over time people really feel it.

Do you Collaborate with others? What is that process?

Keep collaboration at a minimum mainly because I don’t think most rappers are that good if we are being honest. Only collab with people who I know at a deep level never no clout chasing features.

Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans

I show love to anyone who shows love to me and grateful for each person who takes time to listen to what I have to say.

What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?

Favorite aspect of making music is actually delivering the bars in the booth. Least favorite is writing at times, don’t like writing much everything feels forced and writers block is a real thing.

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

Never. I love being the center of attention when it’s my time to shine it’s MY TIME.

Tell me about your favorite performance venues?

The Gothic Theatre in Denver just because a dope memory was there but that’s the past. But doesn’t care about a venue only care about the people in the venue.

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Do you till they bury you. Life is too short to not do what you want to do because of the opinions of others influencing your decisions. Fuck the world and stay in your lane and honestly don’t give a fuck. Life is serious but at the same time it’s all a game.
