Interview with Bangout Proppy

What drew you to the music industry?

My uncle Skee 64(RIP) used to pull up so clean to my football practices when I was 8 and told me it was from the rap. Ever since then I knew what I was gonna do

Who are you inspired by?

Other than my Uncle Skee. Mac Dre is my greatest influence, from there it is E-40, Suga Free, Ya Boy(Rich Rocka), Lil Wayne, Mozzy

Please explain your creative process.

I’m very picky and selective with beats I will even turn down some money for a feature if I don’t like a beat. If the beat talks to me I talk back.

What’s an average day like for you?

Wake up Bake Up find a way to stack some Cake Up, Depending on the schedule I be playing it by ear.

Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?

Authenticity. I vent in my music so you be hearing what I be going through, and I won’t allow anybody to get on my songs lying.

Do you collaborate with others? What is that process? I collaborate with my Bangouts frequently. Out side of that I have a small circle of artists who I fw whether it’s a virtual collab thru email or in lab together I only make music with ppl I have chemistry with.

Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans

II love and appreciate all support and reciprocate it. If u my fan I’m your fan in whatever u do in life. Lol buy my album ima buy yours

What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?

My favorite part has to be progressing in the business I love looking back and seeing what I’ve accomplished and how I’ve evolved in my craft. I’m in the industry of doing what I love so I appreciate everything that comes with it. I’m making a living out of it soon I plan to be feeding more than my family with it.

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

I had stage fright one time when I was in a play when I was 3 or 4 years old I ran outta the preschool crying. My big sister came and got me told me to toughen up and brought me back into the school and I knocked out the play as the Easter bunny lol. Ever since then if I ever get nervous I think of my big sister pressing me.

Tell me about your favorite performance venues.

I dream of headlining ace of spades being from Sacramento. Other than that I just like a venue with ppl who are open to good music I’ll perform in a parking garage a. Mall shit a bathroom if it’s filled with a good crowd lol.

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your

Don’t give up. It’s not all fun it’s not easy it’s not even appealing to the eye Most of the time. But if your heart is in The right place and your grind is right you will make it somewhere. Even if it’s not as soon as u will like it to be you gone get there jus keep grinding
