Interview with Heavy

What drew you to the music industry?

Just done been through a lot and I just stumbled up on the studio going with other people and I tried it once and it sounded good and my partners who been doing music for a long time told me that I should keep doing it.

Who are you inspired by?

I’m inspired by my family and my surroundings. Also my life experience. I talk about what I’ve seen and done in my life so that’s my inspiration.

Please explain your creative process?

Sometimes I play beats and write to them or come up with melodies. And sometimes I just freestyle random stuff that’s on my mind

What’s an average day like for you?

Always moving around and working. Got my own clothing line I’m trying to push so I been putting a lot of my time into my brand and my music.

Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?

Not necessarily a hidden meaning but sometimes I make music that feels good, sometimes I relive the trap, and sometimes I try to point the younger generation in the right direction.

Do you collaborate with others? What is that process?

I do collaborate with others. Sometimes we go in the studio together and sometimes I record tracks and send them to the person I want on it and vice versa.

Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans

I respond to fans through social media. Going live. Those types of things. What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?

My favorite part about this line of work is being able to express myself my own way. I get to channel my creativity. And what I don’t like about it is all the fake people and haters. But I understand that even those individuals play a role in God’s Plan.

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

I’ve never really had performance anxiety. I’ve had that blood rushing and exciting feeling but I’m always ready to go.

Tell me about your favorite performance venues

Performing in night clubs is always fun because you are close to the fans as possible and u can let their energy carry you. What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in yourfootsteps?

If you want it you gotta put in 1,000% because half stepping won’t get the job done.
