Interview with GF Randy V

What drew you to the music industry?

Honestly I wasn’t a rapper, I was living in the moment, I was homeless my summer of junior year of highshool & before that I was on section 8 baby the only way we could stay in okay areas & that doesn’t change our income so we had to wait on food stamps to hit to eat growing up, lights got cut off shower, where cold at times but that’s another story. So when i went into this program because a man named Mr.Walker of SMU upward bound, he let me stay in the dorms and get classes and eat because he knew what I was going through so he pulled some strings and got me a place to stay the beginning of that summer 2016. There I met my roommate “B$lime” the person to change my life from being a intelligent homeless street thug too “Randy V”. we freestyled in our rooms one night after curfew and I always let him n rap but that night I actually rapped on the beat. My bro got quite, then said bro your a rapper & I had a flashback lol back when I freestyled in front of my partna 6ix & I just like when I freestyled before our prom after party on the mic he got quite & said “Randy your a rapper” “I feel when you spit” .

Who are you inspired by?

Dewayne Carter, Lil Wayne, Weezy F Baby, Liltunechi

Please explain your creative process

I really listen to the beat and based on how I feel that’s what I make a song about at the time....I could make over a hundred different songs to the same beat just depending on what mood you catch me in.

I write but I also can freestyle but I like writing because I feel more soul in the music

What’s an average day like for you?

Can’t lie its always a movie & you wouldn’t believe me if i told ya anyway lol

Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?

I’ve always been different one my role models growing up was “Leonardo da Vinci” so I think there’s a deeper meaning to everything.

Do you collaborate with others? What is that process?

Not Usually but I get a lot of artist who want to collaborate but I personally haven’t started yet doing features outside my organization “ GF “ but its gone happen I can just be a little antisocial at times. I pick and choose who I have contact with in life because I know one wrong move or the wrong energy around me can bring me down....and “down” is where I started & I’m never going back.

Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans

i get a lot of fan messages now and I respond to everyone I repost them or I just send them a message of appreciation....sometimes go deeper because some fans want to talk to me and get advice so I’ve help a few of the youth get past hard times they felt they couldn’t overcome.

What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?

My favorite part about being a artist is the studio & fans. I love being locked in the studio i don’t why either it’s just some about it....kinda like the feeling you get when we was kids riding on the bus & going on the field trip lol I always liked the actual trip itself the actual drive. & I say fans because I remember when people didn’t like me & I didn’t like them but now it’s like they go out they way to show me they feel a way about me & most the time it’s good so how can I not like positivity.

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

No I feel just right on stage every time I’ve every done performance ....lol I just get tired fast I just turned 21 this in April but I smoke more than a Apache
