Interview with YT

What drew you to the music industry?

I been around music my whole life. My family loves karaoke. Everyone on my mom’s side of the family have great voices, and my grandma used to be in a band. A couple of my older homies are rappers too so i guess it just like like the thing to do to me like a sport

Who are you inspired by?

A lot of rappers inspire me. I used to mostly listen to Lil Wayne when he was in his prime. I also listen to A Boogie and other new rappers coming up like Youngboy NBA

Please explain your creative process

I usually just turn on a beat and just see where it takes me. If it’s an inspirational beat then I’d talk about how I came up. It also depends on how I feel at that moment like if I can’t get something outta my mind ima write about it to get it off my chest

What’s an average day like for you?

I just wake up and grind. If I’m not working and getting money then I’m writing, reading, or working out. There’ll be times I turn up with the homies but I make sure I get what I need done first. Gotta stay working to stay consistent

Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?

There’s no secret messages or anything in my music. The lyrics kinda blunt I’m not that deep haha (unless you’re talking about punchlines)

Do you collaborate with others? What is that process?

I gotta coo amount of collabs. If it’s a homie we’ll hit the studio together. Or if someone hits me up from outta town or something then they send me their part and I lay a verse or hook down and vice versa. I even found some ppl on ig and just dm them for collabs

Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans

I mean if they dm me or comment on my post I’ll just comment back or like it. Or if they give me a shout out I’ll do the same. I don’t do much interacting tbh

What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?

Just being able to come up with the creative shit. Like a crazy punchline, a dope melody, a nice rhyme scheme, and shit like that. What frustrates me most is writers block. It’s hard to get through it sometimes

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

I get performance anxiety all the time I just gotta feel myself n turn up and it’ll go away haha.

Tell me about your favorite performance venues

I haven’t performed much tbh, but Pure in San Jose is a dope venue it be hella lit over there it’s kinda big too. Studio 8 is another coo spot.

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your

footsteps?

Stay focused and keep grinding. There’s always something to get better at wether it’s lyrics or melodies or whatever so never get big headed. If someone got something to say about your work then listen to what they gotta say to keep progressing
