Who are your influences in the game and in your personal life?
My influences in the game are Kirk Franklin, Trip Lee, Nas, Tupac and Big, Dwayne Tryumf, Cerose, Wretch 32 and my greatest influence musically is Michael Jackson and my biggest influence and inspirational person that I look up to is Jesus Christ.
If you could compare yourself to an already established artist, whowould that be and why?
If I could compare myself to an established artist it would probably have to be quite a few artists such as Lecrae, Tupac, kano and D Double. Just because of my style as an artist and now I promote the Gospel in my music. My latest project was called Back To Glory and it is very different from my previous projects it has elements of grime and rap. But I have definitely changed my direction and I have another project coming up shortly with Cerose called the Cross Vs The Switch Blade.
What do you think your listeners will get out of your music?
What my listeners will get out of my music is hope and if they receive it well motivation in life, but most importantly salvation and positivity.
What were you thinking about when your songs are developed? Explain your process
I have to love the production before I write a song and then the concept will genuinely come to mind. The world is a beautiful place but it's very corrupt and the lack of love on the planet earth. I now keep my topics around biblical knowledge. I think majority of my songs are all based on different life circumstances. My process is very poetic, I go to a studio and then literally record.
What made you want to get into the business?
I have always grown up listening to all sorts of music whether that was Jazz, hip hop, garage, jungle, Gospel, grime, rock, rnb or rap. I have always loved music whether that be listening to a talented singer or rapper and even wonderful instrumentals or instruments on songs as I also play a few instruments.
What is the most difficult thing you’ve had to endure in life?
The most difficult thing is losing a loved one.
When did you get into Grime?
More than 15 years ago.
Which Grime Artists would you like to work with?
I think the UK grime scene is phenomenal now and they are all reaping the fruit of there harvest. To be honest the grime artist I grew up listening to are Rapid + (Ruff Squad), Dizzie Rascal, Kano, D Double E, Ghetts, Tinie Tempah, Wiley, Crazy Titch, Youngs Tef, Giggs, So solid, heartless crew, Lethal B, Crazy T, Subzero and Doctor + many more. Im happy that most of these artist are friends now.
How would you compare UK vs USA rap scene?
I would say the UK rap scene has definitely advanced and due to international collaborations it has made UK bigger than ever before. I believe American music is still slightly better overall because there quality control is slightly better but in regards to artist I feel lyrically UK are more talented at this present moment. I also believe that the internet has allowed music to be more global and lucrative. This is a good time to be releasing music.
