What drew you to the music industry?
When I was younger the only way I could go to sleep was if I played music, it was something that kept me calm and collected. But when I was in middle school and all the kids would freestyle at the lunch table that’s what really drew my attention to becoming an artist.
Who are you inspired by?
Some artist that inspire me are A Boogie,Tory Lanez and PnB Rock. I like how when I listen to their albums I can listen to every song and vibe to it. Every song to me that they make is catchy and catches the ear of their fans and that’s what I want to do
Please explain your creative process
So whenever I write a new song I’ll listen to the beat over and over again in a silent environment and I hum a melody to the beat, then write the words next. I try to make all my lyrics have a meaning to them when I write. I don’t like going off topic
What’s an average day like for you?
The average day for me varies, I’m in the navy so if I’m in port, an average day is go to work, do my job and go home, when I get home I get on the computer and try to learn more about audio engineering, photography and other things to better my craft. Whenever im done with that, I might go hang out with some friends
When I’m out to sea, if I’m not working, I’m trying to write new songs to whatever beats I have in my phone, being out to sea gives more to write about, I’ll pull into all these countries and meet the locals. Those experiences give me more to write about
Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?
Yes. Growing up I wasn’t the most popular, and not a lot of people believed in me, so there’s kind of a chip on my shoulder because of that.
Do you collaborate with others? What is that process?
Yes. So far I’ve only done songs with 3 artist.
That process usually is “record your verse and send it to me and I’ll do my verse” but I would love to work with another artist in the studio, like pick the beat and write lyrics together so we can feed off each other’s energy
Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans
Because my fan base is so small I interact with all my fans, I shout them out whenever the repost a song, they’ll dm me and ask when I’m dropping something new, I respond to all dms when I can, I work full time and I very rarely on land but I make time for the fans
What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?
My favorite part about this line of work is that it’s a great outlet for stress, it feels good when I can write down whatever I’m feeling and tell it like a story so I don’t have to bottle up all my emotions.
Least favorite is that it takes up more time that I wish I had. For the past two years I’ve been out to sea constantly for long periods of time so I rarely get to go to the studio but when I do I make it worth the wait
Have you ever dealt with performance
Sometimes, but that’s because I’m already shy, but performing is helping me get over my shyness
Tell me about your favorite performance venues
A couple years ago I was on a cruise, and there was a teen night club that me and the other kids my age went to. On the last night there was like a big party in there but the dj wasn’t playing good music. So a couple friends told me to go on the stage and perform, at first I didn’t want to but they persuaded me. Once I got up there I’ll admit I was nervous but once I heard everyone cheering me on and giving with my music it was the greatest feeling ever
What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your
Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do. Don’t get discouraged and give up when your songs don’t get a lot of streams, just keep pushing and eventually your time will come
