Meet the Mohammed Ali

May 22, 2019

What drew you to the music industry?
My homie scratchez. We met in middle school and he was doing his thing since then. Two years ago I got kicked out the crib and he was the only one there for me. We was smoking one day and i freestyled. After that session he forced me to go to the studio. Ever since I stepped foot in that studio I became addicted.

Who are you inspired by?
By my brothers. And my dawgs. I have so many people relying on me to make it so I got no choice but to get it.

Please explain your creative process.
Well damn. At first I sucked in my opinion. I used to write since I was 16 but quit for some strange reason. Then I kept practicing every night. Whatever I just felt I would put on paper. Whether it’s depressing, dope energy or being heart broken.

What’s an average day like for you?
An average day would be going to see my homie, he introduces to me a beat he’s working on. We will go in the car play a bunch of beats and just start free styling to get into a vibe plus it’s good practice. Then when I’m done with everything else I need to do I will light one up and start writing nonstop until I sleep.

Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?
A lot. I try to put subliminal messages of what’s occurring in my life. I put my heart into my work. I don’t record it until in my eyes it’s perfect. I have a lot of haters and enemies so I make sure they hear my shit.

Do you collaborate with others? What is that process?
I recently started to market myself and others show love. I love marketing. You get to travel, meet new people and you also become more diverse in your music. Everyone has a different style and i enjoy every time I collab with someone.

Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans.
I respond and interact with fans just as I do with family. They are the only ones I got right now. Whether large or small amount of a fan base I appreciate and love each one of them.

What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?
My favorite part is the love and support fans show. Makes me feel good they appreciate and fuck with my music. My least favorite is the whole process. It takes patience and dedication. You can make a good song but it all depends on how you say it. Flow & delivery are key.

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?
Yes it was my first performance not too long ago in Orlando and I just started to stutter. My legs were shaking like crazy. I just got to keep trying until I get it.

Tell me about your favorite performance venues.
I only had one but the 30th of May I will perform in Miami. So it will be good practice and experience for me as an artist to proceed forward.

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your

footsteps?
Just never stop grinding. This is your dream and in order to make them turn into reality you have to stay consistent. Never let anyone tell you what and what not to do.
