What drew you to the music industry?
All my life people thought I was talentless, they thought I was not going to be successful at life, and judged me. I just wanted to show people that I am talented and can be successful in music; the hidden talent God gave me.
Who are you inspired by?
My parents inspired me a lot. I think when I first started this music thing they were the first ones to acknowledge that I could do something successful with this. Coming from a family where school and getting a degree is a priority, I wasn’t really at those kind of standards. I felt like I can be successful in a different way.
Please explain your creative process.
If I like I beat I found on YouTube or if a producer sent me something, I would constantly listen to the beat 5-6 times just to discover a flow. Discovering a flow for me takes about 10 minutes. Once I discover the flow, I freestyle the beginning just to get the right words together for the song. Afterwards I start writing, usually the lyrics is something that is similar towards the flow. I usually get one song done by 30 minutes-40 minutes.
What is an average day like for you?
I go to my part time job from 10am-1pm. Then I go to the gym at 4pm-8pm, after around 9pm-12am I work on my music.
Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?
I try to make the best music that sounds good to people, mix it with melody, put some meaningful lyrics into it, and talk about things people would talk about now.
Do you collaborate with others?
I haven’t got the chance to collaborate with any artists yet.
Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans.
Fan base is my priority, I always try to reply everyone on my Instagram DM who supports me, and try to engage with the haters too. For example, if someone doesn’t like my music, I’d ask them why they don’t. And then use their criticism and try improve for the next song.
What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?
My favorite part about this line of work is me being my own boss, allowing me to make music that is attracting to others as well.
I have never performed before but I think I do have stage fright.
My advice to someone that is following my footsteps is to never give up. Keep chasing your dreams and never have that I’m going to give up mindset. If you surround yourself with a positive mindset, you pursuing your goals will become easier.
